Falling number and alpha-amylase activity in developing grain of alloplasmic hexaploid wheat

英语. 12 fertile alloplasmic wheat lines, produced by substituting four nuclear genomes of Triticum aestivum into the cytoplasms of Triticum timococcum Kostoff, Triticum timopheevi Zhuk., and Aegilops ventricosa Tausch, were examined for cytoplasmic effects on falling number and a-amylase activity during grain development in different environments. Nuclear genome, cytoplasm and environment were important sources of variation for falling number. In one environment, where the plants were exposed to very hot, dry conditions, the levels and patterns of change in alpha-amylase activity were also significantly affected by the cytoplasm. The data indicated that alien wheat cytoplasms might result in useful additional variation in specific environments where sprouting is a problem.

Der Einfluss des Cytoplasmas auf Fallzahl und alpha-Amylase-Aktivitaet waehrend der Kornentwicklung wurde bei 12 fertilen alloplasmatischen Weizenlinien (vier Genome von T. aestivum substituiert in die Cytoplasmen von T. timococcum Kostoff, T. timopheevi Zhuk. und Aegilops ventricosa Tausch) in mehreren Umwelten untersucht. Genom, Cytoplasma und Umwelt waren signifikante Variationsursachen fuer die Fallzahl. Unter den trocken-heissen Bedingungen einer Umwelt hatte das Cytoplasma nicht nur einen bedeutenden Einfluss auf das Niveau, sondern auch auf den Verlauf der alpha-Amylase-Aktivitaet. Fremde Cytoplasmen im Weizen koennten durch zusaetzliche Variation fuer Umwelten mit Auswuchsrisikovon Bedeutung sein
