CARDI's tissue culture laboratory is involved in rapid in vitro multiplication of planting material of plantain and pineapple. This paper gives details of micropropagation systems being used by CARDI for these crops. Three aspects of this method of propagation are highlighted. The cost involved in the production of plants through tissue culture have also been investigated by CARDI and these details are presented
