The sweet potato weevil Euscepes postfaciantus Fairmaire is an important pest of sweet potatoes in Barbados. Two surveys were conducted to determine the distribution and pest status of the insect, and to obtain baseline data for an Integrated Pest Management programm. The survey comprised questions of farm types, agronomic practices, insect pests, pathogens, weeds use of pesticides and crop loss caused by the weevil.
