In 1991 and 1992, moss samples were taken at ten plots in the Land of Brandenburg and their content of chlorinated hydrocarbon residues was determined. It was found that, compared to the authorization procedure for plant protection products in the Federal Republic of Germany, DDT concentrations under equivalent procedures in the former GDR were in some cases higher
