Root pruning as a potential method for vigour control -some preliminary results

An experiment with shiraz grapes in the Barossa Valley, South Australia, compared early and late pruning with each of one-sided and 2-sided prunings. Results indicated that root pruning has potential for decreasing shoot vigour, but are not yet sufficient to support it for commercial use.
