Survival of Pinus pinaster Ait. seedlings on second rotation (2R) sites in Gnangara plantation north of Perth, Western Australia
1986
de Braganca, L.F.S.
Mortalities of up to 40 percent were recorded. There was no evidence of pathogens, and trials showed that burning the logging residue did not affect survival rates significantly. In a trial investigating the influence of the hydrophobic character of the soil, mortalities were low and did not differ between treatments. Furrow lining improved survival by 62.5 percent in a trial in which mortality rates were very low throughout.
