Holstein-Friesian heifers and cows were injected with growth hormone at 14, 21 or 28 day intervals over 84 days from the 6th month of lactation. Milk yields were significantly increased by injection at any interval, as were yields of fat and protein; cows responded more than heifers. There were no differences in fat content, and protein-content responses were equivocal.
