Relationship between Phoma black stem [fungal disease] severity and herbage and seed yield and coumestrol [oestrogen] content in three Medicago polymorpha var. brevispina cultivars
1991
Barbetti, M.J. | Fang, C.S. (Western Australian Dept. of Agriculture, Perth)
In a field trial, there was a significant negative correlation between disease severity and herbage yields in early and mid-spring, seed yields at the end of the growing season, and 100-seed weight. There was a significant correlation at the end of spring between disease severity and coumestrol content of dry stems and pods. Cultivar Santiago was less susceptible to disease than Circle Valley and Serena.
