An analysis of line x tester progenies compared in a row-column design

英语. The paper deals with an analysis of genotypes obtained in a line x tester crossing system. The genotypes are observed in an experiment carried out in a row-column design. We assume that the row-column design considered here has an orthogonal block structure. The genotype effects are assumed to be fixed, whereas the row and column effects are assumed to be random. Moreover, we assume that the dispersion structure of the random terms of assumed linear model is close to the structure appropriate to the randomization model. The statistical analysis given here contains the analysis of variance appropriate to the multistrata design, estimation of parameters and testing general and particular hypotheses. This part of the analysis constitutes the basis for a further genetical analysis of genotypes obtained from a line x tester crossing. The analysis includes estimation and testing hypotheses concerning general and specific combining abilities. The theoretical considerations are illustrated with an example. The present row-column design is very useful and effective in field experiments, especially in the case of a small number of genotypes

意大利语. [L'articolo tratta di un'analisi di genotipi ottenuti mediante un sistema di incroci line x tester. I genotipi sono osservati in un esperimento effettuato con un disegno file-colonne. Noi diamo per acquisito il fatto che il disegno file-colonne considerato abbia una struttura ortogonale dei blocchi; inoltre, che gli effetti genotipici siano fissati, mentre gli effetti delle file e delle colonne sono distribuiti a caso, e che la struttura della dispersione dei termini casuali del modello lineare assunto sia vicina alla struttura appropriata al modello di randomizzazione. L'analisi statistica presentata contiene l'analisi della varianza appropriata al disegno multistrati, la stima dei parametri e la verifica delle ipotesi generali e particolari. Questa parte dell'analisi costituisce la base per un'ulteriore analisi genetica dei genotipi ottenuti da incroci line x tester. L'analisi include la stima e le ipotesi di verifica concernenti le capacita' generali e specifiche di combinazione. Le considerazioni teoriche sono illustrate con un esempio. Il presente disegno file-colonne risulta molto utile ed efficace negli esperimenti di campo, specialmente nel caso di un numero limitato di genotipi]
