An attempt is made to widen the application of telemetry to domestic animals by studying cardiac rhythm in intensive agricultural regimes in sport animals, and in normal physiological circumstances. This method of telemetry has permitted detailed study on different elements of the ECG in healthy animals, animals under stress conditions, and physiotherapy. The need of a unified approach to the configuration of the leads in electrocardiography is also discussed, since this is essential to obtain objective and comparable physiological and pathological information. This study has permitted to register the amplitudes of the Q wave for the first time in the veterinary medicine and to use its diagnostic value as a pathologic wave together with the other elements of the ECG. The action of chronic stressors (hypokinesia), which is hard to prove by hematologic, enzymatic or other diagnostic methods is revealed in this way. Cardiac abnormalities in sows are over 30. Obviously a new technology conception is required in animal husbandry.
