1997

Forest vegetation was followed on permanent plot in 1964-1993. This permanent plot is situated in the mountain massif Ondrejnik (Czech Republic, Northern Moravia) at the height of 820 m above sea level on the north-western slope,in the fir-beech altitudinal zone, in the forest-type group Fageto-Aceretum normale. These changes were observed on permanent plot over 30 years of observation: the incidental species silver fir (Abies alba), Norway spruce (Picea excelsa) and European ash (Fraxinus excelsior) were found to wither in the tree layer of the beech stand older than 120 years. The share of sycamore maple (Acer pseudoplatanus) increased conspicuously. The noli me tangere (Impatiens noli-tangere) disappeared from ground vegetation. The hairgrass growing around beech stems, along which rainwater is running down, was acidified with SO2 present in the air.
