The effect of Atonik on the growth of apple shoots and chemical composition of leaves in apple cultivars Gloster, Idared, Melrose and Starkrimson in 1993-1995, was studied. Atonik was applied as a foliar spray in 0,05 % concentration and in phenological phase C3-D. Atonik, with the exception of cultivar Gloster, statistically significantly stimulated the growth of shoots (terminal shoot length) by 9.0-48.1 %. Relative growth rate was not statistically significantly influenced. Increase of Ca and Mg content, the decrease of N and K content and of K:(Ca+Mg) ratio in leaves was determined. Chemical composition of Atonik: 0.1 % sodium-5-nitroguajacolate, 0.2 % sodium-1-nitrophenolate, 0.3 % sodium-4-nitrophenolate.
