The period under review (September - November, 1990) was mostly dry which was quite the opposite to the previous reporting period (April to August 1990) when conditions were extremely wet. The drier months of the tear are the most challenging ones for milk producers since it is during that period that milk production precipitously declines because of insufficiency of forage supply.
