Macrobrachium rosenbergii, also called Malaydian giant shrimp, is a giant long-legged fresh water shrimp. This textbook was designed as a training manual in freshwater shrimp farming. Chapter one examines the biological characteristics of Macrobrachium rosenbergii and provides information on the geographical distribution of the species and its importance as a cultured species. Chapter two is concerned with artificial propagation of shrimp and deals with brood shrimp selection, transportation and culture. Chapter 3 focused on the rearing of post larvae, pond construction, preparation and management, while chapter 4 looks at the grow out phase and production aspects.
