Effect of maize seed storage conditions on the survival of Fusarium spp.

Seeds of two maize hybrids harvested in 1990 were adjusted to 10 % and 14 % seed moisture contents (SMC) and stored at five temperatures ranging from 5-30 deg C for nine months in sealed containers. At three month intervals seeds wre assessed for germination and the presence of Fusarium, Aspergillus, and Penicillium species. After nine months storage there was no change in seed moisture content.
