Some aspects of co-operation between West and East European co-operatives

英语. TThe paper gives a short evaluation of the difficulties that a dialogue between Eastern European an Western European co-operative research has so far encountered. It also gives a concrete example of how these difficulties could be overcome on the basis of a specific case of personal understanding. Thus the Research Institute for Co-operatives at the University of Vienna and the University for National and International Economy, Department of Co-operative Management and Business inSofia have been able to build up a solid alliance that seems to be as yet expandable. We thus can conclude that international co-operation in the fields of co-operatives is a difficult topic and one that has to be fomented by much idealism, personal contacts and by the art to convince a number of potential financiers. A co-operative outlook on life (that is rarer than one should expect!) can be very helpful in that respect. Within the framework of this paper some topical parallelisms beween Eastern and Western co-operatives are also touched upon - especially with regard to centralism, member apathy and the adaption to the forces of the market.

Der Aufsatz gibt im ersten Teil einen zusammenfassenden Ueberblick ueber die Schwierigkeiten, die bis dato im Dialog zwischen west- und osteuropaeischer genossenschaftswissenschaftlicher Forschung aufgetreten sind und zeigt anhand eines Beispiels, wie sie ueberwunden werden koennen. Im zweiten Teil werden einige Aspekte der Entwicklung der Genossenschaften in West- und Osteuropa notiert, wobei nicht nur die systembedingten Unterschiede dargestellt werden, sondern auch die zahlreichen Parallelen. Zwischen west- und osteuropaeischen Wissenschaftlern fand lange Zeit nahezu keine Diskussion statt. Dies aenderte sich erst mit dem politischen Umbruch 1989, der den Startschuss fuer eine wachsende Dialogbereitschaft bildete. Ein Beispiel hierfuer ist die Zusammenarbeit zwischen dem Forschungsinstitut fuer Genossenschaftswesen der Universitaet Wien und dem Fachbereich fuer Genossenschaftliches Management der Universitaet fuer Nationale und Internationale Wirtschaft in Sofia. Entstandenaus einem eher zufaelligen Kontakt von D
