Experiments showed that bioproduct Trichonitrin, biological ingredient saprophytic fungus Trichoderma harzianum - strain B1, can be used as a seed treatment effective in controlling of Rhynchosporium secalis in spring barley. Within early growth stages, the bioproducts efficacy ranged from 30.69% to 91.61% when spring barley varieties Kompakt, Kosan, Spartan, and strain SK 4062 were tested. The biological treatment enhanced the growth of treated plants. At the growth stage of flowering, the percentage of the damaged leaves area ranged from 25.6-59.3% and, at the growth stage of milk ripening, it was even higher ranging form 19.7-77.4% in untreated control. Infections of flag leaves as well as the second leaves from above had negative effect on both the number and the weight of grains in the ear.
