Field trial with grapevine, which grew on a high wiring at a spacing of 1 x 3 m, trained as simple curtain with a different number of fruiting buds per plant: 18, 24 and 30, with different pruning of one-year wood: 4, 6, 8, 12 buds per cane, has been studied. We have tested what loading on one-year fruiting wood per plant and what type of vine-pruning are most efficient in accordance with biomass of the plant produced during the vegetation period, structure of this biomass, sugar production and leaf area efficiency. The best grapevine efficiency in production of the total biomass, grape yields, sugar production per plant and 1 m** (2) were recorded on plants with high to medium loading, 30 and 24 buds per plant, and with medium type of pruning where 6 and 8 buds were left on the cane.
