Resistance of several soybean mutants to army worm Spodoptera litura Fab.

英语. Tests to observe the presence or absence of antibiosis and preference or antixenosis mechanism on ten soybean mutants produced by CAIR-BATAN were conducted in the laboratory and green house. Mechanism of antibiosis was not observed on the tested mutants. Army worm reared on the soybean leaves of the tested mutants did not show any differences in the mortality, weight of the pupae produced, and in the quantity of the leaves consumed. However, differences in the level of preference were observed. One week after one-moth-old soybean mutans were infected each with three neonet larvae, the differences in the level of damage and the number of the larvae found on each mutants were observed. Mutant of 83 PSJ got lower leaf damage (21,2 square cm/plant) than those on mutants of 157 PSJ and 33 PSJ (50.1 and 57.3 square cm/plant respectively), because the first mutant was less prefered than the leter. Larvae found on those mutants were 0.3, 2.3 and 2.5 respectively

Mekanisme antibiosis tidak terdapat pada mutan yang diuji, karena ulat-ulat yang dipelihara dengan makanan daun kedelai mutan uji tidak menunjukkan adanya perbedaan dalam mortalitas, berat kepompong yang terbentuk, dan kuantitas daun yang dikonsumsi. Akan tetapi, ditemukan adanya perbedaan preferensi ulat terhadap mutan uji. Seminggu setelah tanaman mutan uji yang berumur sebulan diinfeksi tiga ekor ulat baru menetas, teramati adanya perbedaan tingkat kerusakan daun dan jumlah ulat yang terdapat pada masing-masing mutan.
