A correlation study between yield and its component of ten promising kapok (Ceiba pentandra L.) clones were investigated in order to find out suitable selection criteria for kapok. Collected data of three years old of several promising kapok clones were analysed with correlation and path analyses. The result showed that the number of primary branch and fruit per plant gave the highest correlation with fibre yield; their coefficient correlations were 0.6465 and 0.8198, respectively. Path analysis showed that the number of fruit per plant gave a significantly direct contribution to fibre yield. Therefore, the number of fruit per plant was considered as an appropriate selection criteria for assesing high fibre yielding kapok clones
