The improvement of genetic variability of Danau Tempe rice variety through induced mutation

英语. Seeds of Danau Tempe rice variety was irradiated with 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, and 0.25 kGy by Co-60 gamma radiation. Number of irradiated seeds for each treatment was 200 g and the moisture content of seeds was about 12.5 percent. The M1 plant generation was grown in the field during wet season 1992/1993 at Pusakanegara. Every M1 plant generation was harvested and was analyzed their amylose content of seed by using iodycalorymeter. The genetics variability and the broad sense of heritability value of amylose content were estimated. The results showed that the genetic variability and the heritability value of amylose content in the irradiated M2 plants of 0.10 and 0.15 kGy were height compared with other dose of irradiation

Jumlah benih yang diiradiasi sebanyak 200 g setiap dosis dengan kadar air 12,5 persen. Tanaman M1 ditanam di Pusakanegara pada musim tanam 1992/1993. Setiap tanaman M1 dipanen dan dianalisis kadar amilosa berasnya dengan metode iodikalorimeter. Ragam genetik kadar amilosa dan nilai heritabilitas dalam arti luas dihitung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa ragam genetik dan nilai heritabilitas kadar amilosa tanaman M2 yang diiradiasi dengan dosis 0, 10 dan 0,15 kGy lebih tinggi dibanding dengan dosis radiasi yang lain
