An experiment was conducted at Bukitinggi from October 1992 to March 1993. The split plot design were used to evaluate two factor treatments. Three levels of P (30, 45, and 60 kg P205/ha) were the main plot, and four rice promising lines (IR 25976-Sr-12-2-2-2-1, IR40094-Sr1-3-1-3-2, SS319d-Sr-1-1, SS326d-Sr-2-8) and Batang Sumani variety as the subplots. The result showed that interaction between genotypes and the rates of phosphate significantly affected on flowering, maturity days, and tiller number. But, application of P205 up to 60 kg/ha unsignificantly affected on yield of rice variety/lines. The highest yield was achieved by lines SS326d-Sr-2-8 and IR40094-Sr-1-3-1-3-2
