Minde, I.J. | Jumbe, C.B.L.
The main objective of the study was to establish current situation and outlook of cassava and sweet potato in the SADC region to facilitate informed decisions and directions in research on the areas od technology development and transfer. The regional situation in cassava shows wide variations in area and production across countries ranging from almost zero hectares in Lesotho and Botswana to about 900,000 hectares in Mozambique. Sweet potato is grown by all countries in the SADC region although more widely and thinly distributed than cassava.
