Many attempts were undertaken in Suriname and different other Caribbean Countries to construct a model for the management of the control of the yellow sigatoka disease of banana (Mycosphaerella musicola. Leach). We succeeded in constructing and developing a weather-based simulation model for the timing of the air spray cycles. For this purpose system analytical considerations have also been taken into account. The whole system is driven by interaction functions based on the knowledge compiled about the relation between the pathogenic development of the fungus (Mycosphaerella musicola. Leach) and the influence of the weather conditions. All this resulted in an expectation of the number of the initial symptom viz. yellow streaks on the third leaf of the banana plant. This expectation in its turn combined with economic factors like: 1. yield potential of the crop, 2. sprays costs and, 3. market price of the crop, provided us with the information when to spray and the nature of the spray mix
