Comparison of the selected natural indicators in the crop and animal production from 1989 up to 1997 showed on the cause of the economic lagging behind of legal subjects in the Slovak Republic. The nonbalanced supply and demand for feed grains and other commodities is bound mainly on the significant decline of number of dairy cows and sows. State government and other institutions must help to solve the crisis situation in the agricultural production.
