Analysis of the present state of agricultural transportation in the Czech Republic

Data acquired by a sample survey conducted in agribusiness enterprises, research results and data published in literary sources were used for the analysis of the present agricultural transport. A total of about 120 million tons of different materials are transported in the agricultural primary production sector of CR every year. It is 28 tons per 1 hectare of farm land. This volume has decreased by 25 % in the last ten years. The annual consumption of diesel oil for transport operations is more than 240 million liters, total direct transport cost is about 15,000 million Kl. Bulk materials transported at the volume of 40 million tons/year are the most important category. Eighty-six per cent of the total transported volume are on-farm transportation while supplies, marketing and contracted transport represent the remaining share.
