Occurrence of zebra mussel Dreissena polymorpha (Pall.) in a lake of diversified shoreline

In the years 1997-98 the occurrence of sedentary specimens and planktonic larvae of Dreissena polymorpha has been analysed in the Inulec Lake (Masurian Lakeland). The sedentary forms of D. polymorpha were found at the depth of 0.2-5.0 meters. The highest number of bivalves was observed at the depth of 2-3 meters. The maximal density of larvae in plankton was observed in July 1998 and equaled to 11 300 per cubic meter
