Kosca stream near Visnja Gora is apparently one only of many forest streams in Slovenia. The particularity of Kosca is travertine, which creates numerous barriers over the streambed, as well as picturesque growing waterfalls in the vicinity of karst spring. In the consequence of proximity of urban area, and for the increased interests in public recreation, the pressures on the delicate valley became even stronger. Therefore, the above article states and substantiates the arguments in favour for valley protection with natural monument status to be awarded.
