Against a background of basic information on the town and commune of Wolbrom, the article analyses the capital expenditure on investment tasks carried out in this administrative unit. The role of the local self-government in stimulating economic development is emphasised. It is particulary visible in carrying out communal and infrastructural projects using budgetary resources
