Study of formaldehyde determination in cork products

The aim of this work was to carry out a comparative study and to evaluate the quantitative differences in formaldehyde determination (free or emitted to the environment) in different types of cork products, using different test methods. The objectives were to evaluate the interference of other existing or produced compounds in the raw material, which could increase formaldehyde content or affect the chemical analysis. The analytical test methods used were standard test methods and methods in pre-normative study or developed in laboratory. In addition to different cork raw materials, cork agglomerates with different stabilisation periods were used.

Eine vergleichende Untersuchung wurde durchgefnhrt um die quantitativen Unterschiede bei der Formaldehydbestimmung (freies oder emittiertes) in verschiedenen Korkprodukten zu bestimmen, wobei unterschiedliche Testmethoden angewandt wurden. Das Ziel war es, die st÷renden Einflnsse anderer Inhaltsstoffe oder bei der Herstellung entstandener Komponenten im Rohmaterial zu nberprnfen, welche den Formaldehydgehalt erh÷hen oder die chemische Analyse beeinflussen k÷nnen. Zur Anwendung kamen Standard-Testmethoden und Methoden, die noch nicht als Norm festgelegt sind oder im Labor entwickelt wurden. Neben verschiedenen Rohmaterialien wurden auch Kork-Agglomerate mit unterschiedlich langen Stabilisationsperioden geprnft.
