Baseline and need identification survey report of agro-ecological research site at Silmi/Pakuwa of Parbat districts representating low hills in western Nepal

A baseline and need identification survey through PRA technique was carried out at the agro-ecological research site at Simali/Pakuwa, Parbat (Nepal) from December 1999 to January 2000 wtih the objective to investigate detailed information on various biophysical and social-ceonomical aspects of the site related with agriculture. In addition, this type of survey was carried out to collect general information of the site. This report presents the findings of the surveys that are mainly focused on social, economical, agronomical, horticultural, livestock, forestry/pasture, climate income/expenditure of the farmers, education status, off-farm and on-farm income, cropping pattern, fodder and forage availablilty, livestock and livestock health.
