The aim presented investigatins was to recognize the impact of different nitrogen fertilizer rates on the changes of nitrate-nitrogen content in a sprinkled irrigated permanent grassland soil profile. During ten years, the N-NO3 content has been assessed in soil profiles from a long term grassland experiment. During the entire sampling period, the content of N-NO3 in the plant root zone was mostly greater than in deeper soil layers on all tested fertilizer objects.
