Paper considered the process of infrared irradiation as a method refining legume seeds. White lupine seeds, Wat cultivar, used as the material for study, were subjected to infrared irradiation under various conditions. Variable parameters in the process were: seed moisture content and time of irradiation. Tearing strength of seed coats was tested after infrared treatment. The changes in seed coat strength as resulted from infrared irradiation were given in graphical form
