According to the number of mummified larvae the colonies were divided into 5 groups: 1. colonies without symptoms of disease; 2. colonies from 1 to 10 mummies; 3. from 11 to 100 mummies; 4. from 101 to 500 mummies; 5. colonies severely infected (over 500 mummies). The honey production was the highest in group 1. in which no mummies were found (mean honey yield 13.57 kg), and was significantly higher than in groups 4. and 5. considerably more infected. The moderate infection in groups 2. and 3. (1-100 mummies per colony) reduced the honey yield only slightly, and the differences between these groups and group 1, were not statistically proved
