Transport at controlled temperatures of perishable vegetables

英语. One of the most important postharvest operations is surely the transport of vegetable products at controlled temperatures. These goods are essentially transported by road; only a little part of the products is transported by railway and the transport by aeroplane and by ship is negligible. Yet, it is not possible to think that only the road can drain off all the traffic of goods that in the third millennium will be developed. Moreover, it is unimaginable a transport net only by train, which is reliable but cannot assure the flexibility and capillarity typical of the road transport. The solution is to combine all means of transport and particularly to consider the road-railroad combination. In this note, the different solutions for the transport at controlled temperatures of perishable products on the road, by train and by ship are described. A special attention is given to the combined road-railroad transport and to the consequent social, environmental and economical benefits

意大利语. Una delle operazioni post-raccolta piu' importanti e' senza dubbio il trasporto a temperatura controllata dei prodotti ortofrutticoli. Queste merci vengono trasportate essenzialmente su strada ed in piccola parte tramite ferrovia, mentre puo' ritenersi trascurabile il trasporto nazionale per via aerea e navale. E', tuttavia, impensabile che la strada possa assorbire da sola l'intero traffico merci che si sviluppera' nel terzo millennio e non e' neppure pensabile ricorrere esclusivamente alla sola ferrovia, la quale, pur essendo affidabile, non assicura la necessaria flessibilita' e capillarita' del trasporto stradale. La soluzione e' quella di combinare i diversi mezzi di trasporto e in particolare quello strada-ferrovia. Nella presente nota vengono illustrate le diverse soluzioni per il trasporto a temperatura controllata di merci deperibili su strada, su rotaia e su nave. Particolare attenzione viene rivolta al trasporto combinato strada-ferrovia ed ai vantaggi che esso comporta dal punto di vista sociale, ambientale ed economico
