This work aimed at evaluating species composition, dominance patterns, density and biomass of bottom molluscan fauna as well as analysis of differentiation of mollusc communities under the influence of environmental factors a depth and a distance from the river bed, charcter of bottom sediments, occurrence of macrophytes and the extent of habitat colonization by D. polymorpha. The effect of zebra mussels on malacocenoses resulted in significant differences in special richness and densities between the habitats
