Spraying in vineyard with a localising system

The performance of a sprayer fitted with two vertical adjustable air outlets has been studied in vineyards, investigating the effects of changing the fan speed (1,400, 2,000 and 2,500 rev/min) and the direction of the air-jet (90 deg and 120 deg). Laboratory measurements were made before the field trial in order to define the operating characteristics of the sprayer. The sampling methodology in the vineyard was based on a framework and a system of intersecting nylon threads, dividing the canopy into elementary volumetric zones. The spray flux entering and leaving the canopy, the losses to the ground and to the air were measured. The spray coverage on the leaves at different heights and depths in the canopy has been also quantified. Considering the spray deposit and the environmental losses, the best results were observed with the 120 deg backward angle of the outlet side deflectors and the low and medium fan speeds. Le prestazioni di una irroratrice con convogliatori laterali di flusso sono state valutate in vigneto studiando gli effetti della diversa velocita' del ventilatore (1.400, 2.000 e 2.500 giri/min) e della diversa inclinazione dei convogliatori (90 e 120 gradi rispetto alla direzione di avanzamento della macchina) sulla distribuzione del nebulizzato. La metodologia di rilievo ha previsto l'allestimento di una struttura con un sistema di fili di nylon in grado di suddividere la vegetazione in volumi ben definiti, all'interno dei quali e' stata eseguita la misura. Sono state rilevate la ripartizione del flusso del nebulizzato nel bersaglio, le perdite a terra e la deriva laterale, cosi' pure il grado di copertura alle diverse quote e profondita' della vegetazione. Considerando il deposito e la deriva laterale, si e' osservato che i migliori risultati sono stati ottenuti con i deflettori a 120 gradi e con le velocita' del ventilatore media e bassa.
