Test of citrus fruit post-harvest sorting with two optic graders

英语. Today the fruits and vegetables destined to the market must both meet consumer needs and comply with law requirements. Now, the optimization of postharvest processes accounts for a useful tool to pursue the above objectives. The present study focused on the assessment of the efficiency of two optic graders with a special focus on the levels of accuracy attained by the devices in question. The tests on the accuracy of grading were performed using manually pre-calibrated fruits (oranges and lemons) which had already been assigned a number to allow for their traceability during various repeats at different speeds. By processing the data obtained from the different tests, it was highlighted that the optic graders under study performed very well in terms of accuracy levels even at higher test speeds, thus guaranteeing elevated throughputs: the best results were registered with grader B, that performed grading operations for 80% of the fruits, with a highest absolute value of error of 2 mm, which proved to be below or equal to 1 mm for most of the calibration operations

L'ottimizzazione delle operazioni postraccolta si vale oggi di uno strumento utile al conseguimento di tali obiettivi. Questo studio si e' incentrato sulla verifica dell'efficienza di due selezionatrici ottiche, con particolare attenzione ai livelli di accuratezza raggiunti dalle attrezzature in questione. I test sull'accuratezza della selezione sono stati effettuati utilizzando frutti pre-calibrati manualmente (arance e limoni), ai quali era gia' stato assegnato un numero per consentirne la rintracciabilita' nel corso di varie ripetizioni a velocita' diverse. Dall'elaborazione dei dati ottenuti nei diversi test e' stato evidenziato che le selezionatrici ottiche esaminate hanno fornito ottime prestazioni in termini di livelli di accuratezza anche in condizione di alta velocita' delle prove, garantendo pertanto volumi di lavoro elevati: i migliori risultati sono stati ottenuti con la selezionatrice B, che ha effettuato le operazioni di selezione sull'80% dei frutti, con un valore assoluto di errore massimo pari a 2 mm, che si e' dimostrato inferiore o uguale a 1 mm per la maggior parte delle operazioni di calibrazione]
