英语. This paper analyses the key steps of the horticulture and greenhouse crops development in the last fifties. The heavy variations from the second half of the '60 regarded the economic structure of the farms, that varied from a based on wage labour to a direct management and, as the same, the farming system, that changed from flower-growing to the vegetables crops. Crop trend, technical and economical background that influenced the greenhouse crop development and variations are analysed

Il lavoro individua le tappe fondamentali che caratterizzano la nascita e la successiva espansione dell'orticoltura e, piu' in generale, delle colture in serra in Sardegna, nell'ultimo cinquantennio. Di particolare interesse risultano i profondi mutamenti, avvenuti a partire dalla seconda meta' degli anni '60, che hanno interessato sia la struttura economica delle aziende, passate da una conduzione tipicamente capitalistica a quella familiare, sia l'indirizzo produttivo prevalente, passato dalla floricoltura all'orticoltura. Vengono analizzate, in breve, l'evoluzione delle superfici delle diverse colture, le motivazioni tecniche ed economiche che hanno determinato l'espansione del settore (da 25 a 1.350 ha coperti), e i mutamenti piu' significativi del cinquantennio
