Water holding capacity of two olive (Olea europea L.) cultivars in Cañete valley, Lima-Peru | Contenido hídrico de dos variedades de olivo (Olea europaea L.) en el Valle de Cañete, Lima-Perú

英语. The study of the indexes of water to Olea europea L. is important because it allows understanding of the water capacity of this species. This trial was carried out in the Valley Cañete with olive varieties ‘Frantoio’ and ‘Sevillana’ (both 10 years old), with the aim of determine its moisture content. In both varieties relative water content (CHR), the Content of water saturation (CAS), the water deficit for saturation (DAS), dry weight (PS) and fresh weight (FW) was measured. ‘Sevillana’ shown a CHR (73.7%), PS (0.180 g) and PF (0.330 g) were higher than in the cultivar 'Frantoio' (with values of 68.2%, 0.140 g and 0.258 g respectively). In conclusion, these results indicate that the variety ‘Sevillana’ has greater capacity than water ‘Frantoio’ to withstand arid environments.

西班牙语; 卡斯蒂利亚语. El estudio de los índices del estado hídrico en Olea europea L. resulta de gran importancia porque permite una mejor comprensión de la capacidad hídrica de esta especie. El presente ensayo fue conducido en el Valle de Cañete con las variedades de olivo ‘Frantoio’ y ‘Sevillana’ (ambas con 10 años de edad), con el objetivo de determinar su contenido hídrico. En las dos variedades se midió el contenido hídrico relativo (CHR), el contenido de agua para la saturación (CAS), el déficit de agua para la saturación (DAS), el peso seco (PS) y el peso fresco (PF). En la variedad ‘Sevillana’ los valores de CHR (73,7%), PS (0,180 g) y PF (0,330 g) fueron mayores que en la variedad ‘Frantoio’, esta última con valores de 68,2%, 0,140 g y 0,258 g respectivamente. En conclusión, estos resultados indican que la variedad ‘Sevillana’ tiene mayor capacidad hídrica que la ‘Frantoio’ para resistir ambientes áridos.
