Sensitivity of Venturia inaequalis to fluxapyroxad (Serkadis) in industrial plantations in the South of Russia | Чувствительность к флуксапироксаду (Серкадис) популяции Venturia inaequalis из промышленных насаждений Юга России

英语. The apple scab pathogen Venturia inaequalis is claimed to be the most commonly encountered pathogen of apple orchards in temperate climates. Widespread use of fungicides with narrowly focused action leads to a gradual selection of resistant pathogen biotypes, an increase in their share in the population and, subsequently, to a loss of effectiveness of chemicals. Monitoring the pathogen sensitivity to fungicides, including new ones that have appeared on the pesticide market relatively recently, such as succinate dehydrogenase inhibitors (SDHI), constitutes an important aspect in the development of an anti-resistance orchard protection program. The present paper evaluates the sensitivity of the fungus to fluxapyroxad using in vitro discriminatory concentration based on relative growth (RG) of mycelium on solid medium. Monospore isolates of the pathogen were cultured on potato glucose agar with and without 0.25 mcg/mL of fluxapyroxad. The study involved a total of 106 isolates of the pathogen collected from two industrial appl e orchards. The mean RG values of these populations differed significantly. The orchards with a history of active ingredient application demonstrated the presence of isolates with RG of mycelium above 70 and 80%, thereby indicating the development of resistance in them. In one of the orchards, the proportion of isolates at a discriminatory threshold of RG more than 80% was twice as high as in the other one. SDHI fungicides and in particular fluxapyroxad refer to narrowly acting fungicides, which makes Venturia inaequalis highly probable to develop resistance to them. The present study is apparently the first in Russia to demonstrate the presence of pathogen forms with reduced sensitivity to this active ingredient. Compliance with anti-resistant FRAC recommendations when using single-site fungicides and constant monitoring of the pathogen sensitivity to them form an important condition for their long-term use.

俄语. Наиболее распространенным патогеном садов яблони в условиях умеренного климата является возбудитель парши – Venturia inaequalis. Широкое применение фунгицидов с узконаправленным механизмом действия приводит к постепенному отбору устойчивых биотипов патогена, росту их доли в популяции и к потере эффективности химических препаратов. Мониторинг чувствительности возбудителя к фунгицидам, в том числе новым, появившимся на рынке пестицидов сравнительно недавно, таким, например, как ингибиторы сукцинатдегидрогеназы (SDHI – succinate dehydrogenase inhibitor), является важным аспектом при разработке антирезистентной программы защиты сада. В работе оценивали чувствительность гриба к флуксапироксаду с использованием дискриминационной концентрации in vitro на основе показателя относительного роста мицелия (RG – relative growth) на твёрдой питательной среде. Моноспоровые изоляты патогена выращивали на картофельно-глюкозном агаре с добавлением 0,25 мкг/мл флуксапироксада и без него. Всего изучено 106 изолятов возбудителя, собранных из двух промышленных садов яблони. Средние значения RG у этих популяций существенно различались. Для насаждений, имевших историю применения действующего вещества, было показано присутствие изолятов со значениями относительного роста мицелия RG выше 70 и 80%, что указывает на развитие резистентности в них. Для одного из садов доля изолятов при дискриминационном пороге RG больше 80% оказалась в два раза выше, чем для другого. В связи с тем, что фунгициды SDHI и в частности флуксапироксад относятся к фунгицидам узконаправленного действия, велика вероятность развития устойчивости к ним у Venturia inaequalis. Впервые в России в проведённом исследовании было показано наличие форм патогена со сниженной чувствительностью к данному действующему веществу. Соблюдение антирезистентных рекомендаций FRAC при использовании моносайтовых фунгицидов и постоянный мониторинг чувствительности патогена к ним является важным условием их долговременного использования.
