Most cultivated plants require fertile soil with neutral pH value for their proper growth, development and fruition. A lower pH values of the soil can be a limiting factor in plant production. In order to increase the soil pH, it is possible to use natural lime fertilizers to neutralize acid soil. As dolomite has found application in agriculture as a carbonate raw material that neutralizes soil acidity, its impact on cultivated plants on different soil types has to be examined. The aim of this study was to examined the effect of dolomite on the parameters of oxidative stress in soybean plants grown on two types of the soil, vertisol and dystric cambisol (in which dolomite was incorporated in amounts of 0, 6, 12, 24 t / ha) by determining the activity of the antioxidant enzymes superoxide-dismutase, catalase and guaiacol-peroxidase as well as the intensity of lipid peroxidation in the leaf and root of the soybean plants. The obtained results show that amounts of dolomite of 12 and 24 t/ha have a positive effect on the cultivated plant on the dystric cambisol soil, what further confirms the positive effect of the use of dolomite in agriculture as a carbonate raw material that neutralizes acid soil.
