The paper presents the results of research on the condition of existing woody vegetation in the University Park in Novi Sad. The University Park in Novi Sad was built in the alluvial zone created by the application of refunded sand. It is located along the Danube next to university campus. The vegetation of the park consists of deciduous species that were planted in 1969. The largest percentage of vegetation (52%) of the park is Euro-American poplar (Populus x euramericana / Dode / Guinier). Euro-American poplar trees have reached their biological maturity, and they are no longer safe for park users. In addition to poplar, a larger percentage of the park area includes nettle (Celtis ccidentalis L. and Celtis australis L.), hornbeam (Carpinus betulus L.) and linden (Tilia sp.). White mulberry (Morus alba L.), white poplar (Populus alba L.) and maple (Acer sp.) species are represented with a smaller number of individuals. Sporadically, with a couple of specimens in the park there are callus (Sambucus nigra L.), hazel (Corylus avellana L.), walnut (Juglans regia L.), thorn (Prunus cerasifera Ehrh.) and white willow (Salix alba L.) .
