The purpose of the bibliography is to provide an overview and background and is not comprehensive on the various topics. The references consist of citations from the professional journal and monographic literature, prominent newspapers, legal materials, and links to Internet sites. The focus of the literature cited is mostly U.S. centered with limited citations on world hunger and nutrition issues. Most of the citations are in English. The date coverage of the literature is 1970 to the present to provide an overview of the literature since the last White House Conference on Nutrition. The citations are grouped by the topics of the ten concurrent sessions; citations may be found in more than one category. Many journal citations which have been retrieved from the NLM PubMed system also contain links to the PubMed record so that abstracts may be obtained if available.
