U.S. perspectives on world food problems
1977
Baker, C.B.
World food problems can be summarized as ones involving population, production, and distribution. the population and production problems are long run. the problems of distribution are more immediate and demand attention if we are to arrest the growth in the number of persons who are at malnutritional risk. successful management of distribution problems would contribute to the management of demographic problems. research is also needed to widen the range of substitutes in production and consumption and to lessen the risk to environmental resources associated with the expansion of food production in ecologically fragile areas.
