Expanding the processed product share of U.S. agricultural exports
1981
Schluter, Gerald | Clayton, Kenneth C.
Extract: During the 1970's the U.S. farm sector and grain and oilseed exporting firms enjoyed the benefits of expanded agricultural exports. Concerns have been expressed whether exporting raw grains and oilseeds fully exploit America's competitive advantage in the production of agricultural commodities. A procedure is presented for estimating the magnitudes of maximum economywide domestic economic effects of exporting a larger share of our agricultural abundance in processed form.
