Study of the influence of ionizing radiation on the physiology of spores of Cl. botulinum
1960
Harrell, W. K.
Abstract: A 1960 quarterly technical report presented interim findings of a study in a project concerning the effect of ionizing radiation on Clostridium botulinum spore physiology that focused on an examination of the physiology and metabolism of Clostrid ium botulinum spores. The report described: (1) a tentative method for metabolic study of spores with complex germination requirements; (2) indications that spores contain at least a portion of the enyzmes needed for glucose metabolism; and (3) the activity and inactivity of different compounds towards spore germination.
