The John Louis Skinner Collection includes brochures for veterinary products, poultry feed, and feed additives. The collection also contains American Poultry Historical Society (APHS) Hall of Fame nomination applications for 12 years, as well as Poultry Science Association programs and member information for 25 or more years. There are also correspondence from the fourth and fifth European Poultry Conferences, and World's Poultry Congress programs, announcements, and promotional materials.

John Louis Skinner (1924-2017) worked in the poultry industry and was professor emeritus for the Department of Poultry Science, University of Wisconsin-Madison. A licensed poultry judge, editor of the Standard of Perfection, and recorder of poultry history, Skinner was an honorary lifetime director of the American Poultry Historical Society (APHS) and a Fellow of the Poultry Science Association. He was inducted into the Poultry Hall of Fame in 1989.
