Abstract: This introduction to writing for mass media is designed for the beginning communications student. Following introductory sections on good writing habits, basic writing skills, and style, attention is focused on the 4 major areas of the mass media. These include print, broadcast, advertising, and public relations writing. The text chapters are arranged in a conceptual format to offer a balance between writing exercises and narrative. Editing symbols, grammar, diagnostic tests, and blank advertising copy forms are appended.
