Designed to increase awareness of the special challenges involved in the nutrition and feeding concerns for children with special health care needs and to present ways to approach the issues. The definition of children with special health care needs includes children with chronic illnesses and disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, food allergies, metabolic disorders, serious emotional and behavioral disorders, or any other disability which affects their health and well being. Includes chapters on nutrition and growth, child development and oral motor skills, self-feeding skills, special diets, etc.
